Sermon of the Month✨

Hebrews 11:30
“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.”

What do you do when God has spoken, you have obeyed, and yet nothing appears to be changing?

For six days, Israel walked around Jericho without seeing a crack in the wall. The obstacle looked exactly as strong as it had before they began. Their marching did not carry power by itself. The victory came because God had spoken, His people believed Him, and they continued until they had completed His instructions.

Faith does not pretend that the wall is small. Faith sees the obstacle clearly but refuses to treat it as greater than God.

There are seasons when faithful obedience feels quiet and repetitive. We pray again, take another step, resist discouragement, and continue doing what God has placed before us. The lack of visible evidence can tempt us to stop too early, but Hebrews reminds us that faith continues walking while the outcome is still unseen.

This message will encourage us to trust God’s character, follow His direction, and remain faithful through the silent days before the breakthrough becomes visible.

Welcome to August at LFCC Kalamunda! 🕊️

Walls can serve many purposes. Some provide protection, while others conceal weakness. Some are built from fear, disappointment, pride, false reassurance, or years of unresolved pain. Others stand between people, keeping them separated even when they long for peace and connection.

Throughout Scripture, walls often represent things that appear strong and permanent. Yet God sees beneath the surface. He knows whether a foundation is secure, whether a refuge is genuine, and whether something in our lives is helping us stand or preventing us from moving forward.

This August, The Walls Are Coming Down will explore what happens when God exposes false foundations, calls His people to walk by faith, confronts what appears immovable, and brings separated people together through Jesus Christ.

God does not tear down merely to leave destruction behind. He uncovers what cannot support us so that our lives can be established in truth. He removes what holds us captive, creates a way forward, and brings us into the peace and freedom found in Christ.

Whether you are facing an obstacle that seems impossible, questioning what you have built your confidence upon, or longing for healing in a divided relationship, this series offers a clear message of hope: no wall is beyond the truth, authority, and redeeming power of God.

Ezekiel 13:14
“So I will break down the wall you have plastered with untempered mortar, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be uncovered.”

Not everything that looks secure is strong underneath.

In Ezekiel’s time, false prophets were reassuring people that everything would be fine, even though their lives were not aligned with God. Their words were like whitewash spread over a defective wall. The surface looked improved, but the structure remained dangerously weak.

The coming storm did not create the problem; it revealed what had already been hidden.

This opening message will invite us to consider the foundations beneath our confidence. Are we building our lives upon God’s truth, or upon appearances, assumptions, human approval, comforting words, and promises God never made?

God exposes false foundations not because He desires our ruin, but because He loves us too much to let us remain protected by something that cannot hold. His truth removes false security and gives us the opportunity to rebuild upon what is genuine, lasting, and trustworthy.

Part 1 will help us recognise the difference between something that merely looks strong and a life truly established upon God’s Word.

Isaiah 25:12
“The fortress of the high fort of your walls He will bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, down to the dust.”

Some walls appear untouchable. They have stood for so long that we begin to accept them as permanent.

They may take the form of fear, shame, destructive patterns, spiritual opposition, painful memories, or circumstances that repeatedly tell us nothing will ever change. The longer something remains, the easier it becomes to believe that it will always have authority over us.

Isaiah presents a different reality. What is high to us is not beyond God. What appears fortified is not greater than His authority. He is able to bring low the very thing that has intimidated, restricted, or resisted His purpose.

This message is not an invitation to place confidence in human determination. It is an invitation to place our confidence in the God who saves. He is strength to the weak, hope to the discouraged, and a secure refuge for those who trust Him.

Part 3 will encourage us to stop measuring God by the size of the wall and begin measuring the wall by the greatness of God.

After four weeks of exploring the walls God exposes, confronts, and removes, we will finish August with a relaxed outdoor gathering at Stirk Park.

No Walls Between Us is an opportunity to share food, enjoy conversation, meet new people, and strengthen the relationships that make a community feel like home.

There will be no formal teaching session. The afternoon will centre on fellowship, connection, and welcoming people from across our church and local community.

Bring your family, invite a friend, and join us for a simple and enjoyable evening together. You do not need to be familiar with church or have attended the August teaching series. Everyone is welcome.

🌤 Weather Notice: This is an outdoor gathering at Stirk Park. In case of bad weather, the event will be relocated to Jack Healey Centre, Kalamunda, and held at the usual time of 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Week 4: Jesus Has Broken Down the Dividing Wall

Ephesians 2:14
“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.”

The greatest walls are not always made from stone. Some are formed through hostility, prejudice, rejection, hurt, mistrust, and the belief that certain people will never belong together.

In Ephesians, Paul describes the deep separation that existed between Jews and Gentiles. Jesus did not simply encourage both groups to tolerate one another. Through His death, He removed the barrier, reconciled them to God, and formed one new people in Himself.

Christ did not merely bring a message about peace. He Himself is our peace.

This final teaching will bring the series to the heart of the gospel. Jesus removes the barrier created by sin and opens the way for people to come near to God. He also challenges the walls we maintain between ourselves and others.

When Christ becomes the centre, old divisions no longer have the final word. Grace creates a new identity, forgiveness makes reconciliation possible, and people who were once distant are welcomed into the same family.

The series concludes with a call to receive the peace Jesus gives and to become people who no longer rebuild the walls He died to remove.
